Kathleen Wightman

I have been part of the Denise Lester family as long as I remember. My 2 older sisters were dancing at Denise's before I was even born. I started dancing at the age of 3, starting with ballet and eventually doing ballet, tap, jazz, acro, pointe, hip hop and modern. Before graduating high school I became a certified BATD associate in ballet, modern, acro and stage. I now attend Lakehead University to become an elementary school teacher or possibly a dance teacher. Along with being a full time student I am also a dance teacher at Denise's and Dedicated to Dance where I choreograph routines for groups and soloist from ages 4-16. I have helped students to achieve their potentials resulting in overalls and different special awards. As a result of my training at the Denise Lester Dance Academy I have had the opportunity to be part of Oshawa Little Theatre's Aladdin, and part of a Sick Kids fundraiser. The studio also provided me with a safe environment where I was free to express myself as a dancer and choreographer.
