Tonya started dance at the age of three with the Denise Lester Dance Academy and spent 20 years training under the expert tutelage of the academy’s faculty. She went to enter both the fields of dance and academics with a strong background in both. Not only did she enter the professional dance scene at the age of 15 but she continued dancing through her school career as well.
Tonya has been featured in music videos and internationally-syndicated commercials such as Coca-Cola; she has toured with many North American industrial tours such as Sears Canada’s Official Dance-Pak and has been featured in HBO’s major motion picture Anne Rice’s Feast of All Saints. She has also served as dancer and dance captain for Paramount Canada’s Wonderland shows and Dance Captain for Paramount Show Services. She has also danced for Renaissance Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises touring all around the Mediterranean, Baltic region, Caribbean and Alaska.
While furthering her dance career, Tonya attended the University of Toronto where she served as Dance Instructor, while completing an Honours Degree in Cell & Molecular Biology. She continued at the University of Western Ontario to complete a Bachelor of Education degree and certification by the Ontario College of Teachers.
Tonya is a highly sought after choreographer for many Ontario studios and is currently a resident co-competitive director of a studio in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.
