Class Description
Gotta Dance (combination class)
Can’t decide between ballet, tap and jazz? This class combines all three in 45 minutes. Gotta Dance is full of energy and will teach you 5-year-olds basic steps to all three dance styles.
Dancin’ Divas
This jazz and tap class brings both styles together creates a fun and energetic 45 minutes. Your 6 and 7-year-olds can enjoy their favourite songs while learning to fuse these two styles together.
Pre-Acro
Pre-Acro is the perfect intro class for 4-5-year-olds. Your child will learn the skills of musicality, flexibility and basic acro tricks in this class that combines gymnastics and dance.
Ballet
The art of Ballet teaches students grace and poise. Through barre work can centre practice, techniques will develop, and students will explore all that Ballet can offer. Your skill level does not matter because we provide beginner to advanced classes. Ballet is the basis for all types of dance and is required for our competitive programs.
Acro
Acro students will feel as though they are a part of Cirque De Soliel. Combining acro skills like walkovers, elbow balances, and headstands with dance steps, dancers will impress. We offer classes from beginner to advanced, helping to develop skills and tricks for ages 6 and up.
Hip Hop
Fun and high-energy, this class will have you dancing to all the hits and learning music-video-worthy choreography. Everyone 5 years and older can let loose and enjoy this trendy and high powered focused class.
Musical Theatre
Dance is a popular art form and usually goes hand in hand with others. Musical Theatre combines dancing, acting, and lip-syncing to put on a full and energetic performance. Inspiring creativity and pushing boundaries of 8-11 year-olds, this class provides the skills to learn and master Musical Theatre.
Jazz
Jazz produces trendy moves and technical training for our students. Whether you are a competitive or recreational student, you will develop flexibility, Rhythm, and muscle tone while having fun. We offer beginner to advanced classes for both competitive and recreational students.
Jazz Funk
This class offers its students turns, leaps, high kicks, and a funky take on jazz. Trendy music and dance moves, Jazz Funk, adds a flair to the original Jazz. This class is recreational and is offered for students 8 years and older.
Tap
Why not make music and dance at the same time? Our tap classes teach timing, rhythm, and quick footwork skills, and we have fun while doing it! Offered from beginners to advanced dancers ages 8 and up.
Lyrical/Contemporary
This class is designed to help the students safely learn and practice strength-building and conditioning exercises. In addition, these classes help keep students in the top, performance-ready shape. We offer the classes both recreationally and for competitive and pre-competitive dancers.
Strength and Conditioning
Lyrical and Contemporary offers a beautiful, dramatic and expressive style of dance. With inspiration taken from Ballet and Jazz, this class teaches students technique and how to feel the music. Lyrical classes are offered to ages 8-11-year-olds, and Contemporary classes are provided for ages 12 and up.
Ladies/Adult Classes
Who said you had to stop dancing after your teens? DLDA offers adult classes to inspire the love of dance is not just for kids but everyone. We offer adult Ballet, Tap, Heels, and Jazz Funk.
